Crafting My Story

Crafting My Story   A story should have characters, where, plot, a hero, and a ending.

Characters   I always say to tell a compelling story it's obvious one must come up with some interesting characters. Characters are what makes your story come alive. Don't forget, they should have awesome names.  I'm quite sure other's would beg to differ.

Where  Every good story should have a "where.' That's the Setting a time and place.

Plot  A stories plot is what happens in your story you need to have a plot to keep the story moving along. Most plots are about conflict between the characters.  Without it, you won't have an interesting story.

A Hero  All good stories must a hero. A hero transforms an ordinary story into an extraordinary story.

The Ending  Most endings, end up with a happily ever after. A resolution you could say it's like a save the day type of thing.

Stories are simply the reflections of our day to day lives. Our lives are a collection of stories, the things we go through from day to day.  The good times and the bad.  Always remember, stories have a beginning, middle and an end.  Once you learn how to put them together the rest will flow.

Would you like to hear how I began telling my stories?  Some of you may find it strange, but I began all of my stories in the middle.  Then I move on to the end.  I take a break then I start at the beginning.  I end up with three piles.  Now it's time to tie them together.

Inspiration

Wow...There are books that can change your life. I mean after reading the Twilight Saga that we it for me.  That began my love of reading.  Before that, I've never read a book from start to finish within a couple of days.  I've read those books maybe three times. Very inspiring. I didn't own any books prior to the Twilight Saga.  Oh my... has my book collection grown.  Some of the books I own: Stephanie Meyers -The Twilight Saga, I can't forget The Host, John Steinbeck - East of Eden one of my favorites, The Grapes of Wrath, Of Mice and Men, Carson McCullers - The Ballad of the Sad CafĂ©, Nicholas Sparks - The Lucky One, Jack Kerouac - On The Road, Stieg Larsson - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl who Played with Fire, The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. I could go on and on. One day, I hope to get Stieg Larsson - The Expo Files and Carson McCullers - The Member of The Wedding.

Reading all of those amazing books. Has even inspired me to write my own books. The Woman in the Black Cloak, and Mick 2.0 The Take over. Along with my first coloring book Classic Sculptures & Statues. I'm so grateful to Stephanie Meyers for the Twilight Saga. Without those books, I would never had the nerve to become a writer. Fiction books are my favorite, but I'll read mostly anything. Fiction it's funny, it took me awhile to understand it. "Fiction" literature created from the imagination. "Nonfiction" refers to literature based in fact.

My First Blog

I've never attented any writing classes... But writing fiction stories was something I love to do. Since 2010, I've been writing off and on. When one of my friends told me about Amazons Kindle Direct Publishing, I was skeptical at first. I thought the only way to have a book out, was to submit my novel to an agent or a big publishing house. Wish I knew they would reject my novel. Do to there are so many other writers out there way better than me... An agent was out of the question. Being the aspiring author  I was. After speaking with my friend I went for it. Amazon has allowed me the freedom to write what ever I want to! "Self-publishing." Wow...what a beautiful and amazing thing.

My first self-published Kindle release, "The Woman in The Black Cloak," didn't do as well as I hoped it would. It got off to a slow start. That was due to me, not marketing the book, in a way that it should have been done. I didn't have the money to hire professional proofreads or editors to go though my novel. For my covers, my daughter Sahara Coleman designed them. On day, I'll get the chance to use a professional cover artist. My daughter and I handle all the marketing via amazon author page, my website and social media. My new release Richard Bellerose LEPHYSIOTHE RAPEUTE (The Physical Therapist) will be released in May.
