Self-publishing – is the publication of a book by its author without an established publisher It
means independence and it also means making
mistakes, but the thing about mistakes you learn from them. As a
self-published author, you pay the full cost of producing your work and are
responsible for marketing and distribution. This means copyright, the finished
copies, all subsidiary rights, and all profits are exclusively yours unless you use Amazon. You upload your
manuscript to create space they provide you with free tools to help you.
Self-publishing and free distribution for books, CDs, DVDs, and video downloads
on demand. There are many sits you can use for self-publishing.
To date, I’ve used Createspace for "self-publishling". As of right now, I have
published four books through there site. For me personally, it was on the easier side to publish my books with their guidance. Now "self promoting" on the other hand, has definitely been a constant struggle.
Are you a self-publisher? If so, tell me about what it was like to publish your first book and the obstacles you went through. Was it exciting? frustrating? What was the process of getting others to recognize or become aware of your work as an author?
