Passing Judgement on Others

We're so quick to judge others. Take for instance, well before you would drive up to a corner or a light there would be a man standing there with a sign in his hand asking for help.  Now, we have women and there families asking for help.  I can remember riding in my car with a friend, pulling over to give this man three dollars. She said, "What are you doing? The first thing he's going to do with that money is buy some beer." Alright, I'm okay with that. First off we don't know what that man has ben through. The sign read: "I lost my job and can't afford to feed my family." You would think she'd have some compassion, for this man. To me, that means he's in a bind he doesn't know where the families next meal's coming from. So yes, he deserves to have a drink. I'm just glad they have Dollar Tree Stores all over the place.

Me, I can say yes, I have passed judgment on this guy who's a veteran. For three years, he would be parked at this light.  As soon as you come off the parkway.  he was there with his sign asking for money.  Always dressed nice. He has a very nice van. With my dad being a veteran, I know what they offer you. Again, I don't know what's going on in his life. One thing I can say is, this veteran always has a smile on his face. I admire this man, for doing what he needs to do for himself.

I have a twenty year old daughter, it doesn't matter if there someone standing out there with a sign. She want's to give them  something food or money.  She doesn't read their sign. My daughter determined to help in anyway that she can. It's funny, we can learn a lot from our kids. Let's stop judging people.

Who have you passed judgment on?

  1. You know I have a saying that I always say to my kids and it's "Never judge a book by it's cover." Because that tends to be what's wrong with people in society today they would rather judge you instead of help you. It's funny because I've watched people help others who they know for a fact want do right by their own children but would ride past a man or woman on the corner asking for help for their family. It doesn't matter what that person will do with the money it's a test of faith are you willing to help thy neighbor when times get hard? Having a big heart and just the feeling you have known regardless of what's been done with the money should make anyone feel wonderful. I could only imagine how much courage it takes to ask for help. We have to stick together! Great topic Tracey
